About Troy, OH - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Troy is a small Ohio town that is quaint, quiet, historical and close-knit. With a small population, just over 20,000, and many historic buildings, visiting this little community feels a bit like a step back in time. Living in such a place makes for a magical atmosphere and, as the weather changes each year, you can sense a new attitude in the streets of Troy. Summers are all about swimming, popsicles and biking while winter brings holiday fun and a spirit of family.
You will certainly find plenty to do in this part of Ohio. If history is of particular interest to you, then right in the middle of Troy, you will find Overfield Tavern, which is one of Ohio's oldest taverns. You can tour and learn all about the building but don’t plan on getting a drink. It’s no longer a bar. You can also head to the nearby town of Sidney. There, you will find a number of historically significant sites, including: the Empire courthouse and the Gothic revival Monumental Building and the People's Federal Savings and Loan Association (which is a nationally registered historic site!) Stroll around the exterior of these buildings in the spring and summer. When winter rolls in, head inside to check out the historical interiors.
What makes this part of the country so special is its attention to family and spirit of community. Community events, festivals and concerts are standing traditions in almost every town in the area. Troy itself holds the Strawberry Festival every year in the warmth of June. Also in June, Nearby Versailles is hosts their Poultry Days festival which is all about, as you could have guessed, CHICKEN! Other events in the area include the town of Vandalia’s annual Oktoberfest, Star-Spangled Celebration, and “Taste of Vandalia.” Nearby Newport, Ohio holds their Annual Country Concert each year, as well. It is one of the biggest annual events in the area where people from all over gather for fun, food and the music of many famous national stars.
