About Versailles, OH - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Versaille’s name may be French but this town is All-American. From the buildings to the community to the people to the food – it is a town rooted in American tradition.  With only about 3,000 residents this town is small and quaint and the residents are a tight knit community.  Originally named Jacksonville, it is assumed that the initial community was so heavily made up of people of French descent that the name was changed to Versailles to reflect and commemorate their culture.

Versailles is known for hosting their Poultry Days festival on the second full weekend of June. The annual festival consists of a pageant where the winners are crowned "Ms. Chick" and "Little Miss Chick." There is also a carnival, a parade, and delicious slow roasted chicken dinners to be enjoyed. Other events in the area include the many that the nearby town of Vandalia holds each year.  The annual Oktoberfest and the Homecoming parade in autumn are a lovely way to enjoy the crisp, cool weather and have fun.  There is also an Air Show & Parade and the Star-Spangled Celebration, fireworks, “Taste of Vandalia” and the Vandalia Fair which all take place in the warmer months.

If you are more of a history buff than a lover of community events then you will certainly find plenty to do in this part of the world.  Make the short drive to Troy to check out Overfield Tavern, one of Ohio's oldest taverns or head to Sidney to take a look at the Second Empire courthouse and the Gothic revival Monumental Building and the People's Federal Savings and Loan Association. Check out the interior in the winter and take a stroll around the exterior in the warmer months.

Those who love to garden and cook will certainly want to check out the city of Vandalia on Friday evenings… but only in the warmer months (between June and September). This lovely small towns holds a farmer’s market in Seger Park every single Friday from 3 – 7 pm.  It is a wonderful and relaxing way to end the workweek!  What could be better on a warm summer evening than buying delicious produce and chatting with local farmers?
